Join us on Monday,  January 22nd for an exciting Owners Lunch & Learn with Alice Rodriguez, Deputy Director of External Affairs, at California High-Speed Rail Authority. The California High-Speed Rail Authority is responsible for designing and building the nation’s first true high-speed rail program. This 500-mile system will connect San Francisco to Los Angeles in under three hours. In this presentation, you will hear updates on active construction in the Central Valley, the work to prepare for the first high-speed rail stations, upcoming procurements for track, systems, and trainsets, and what’s on the horizon as the Authority works to deliver the first operating segment by 2030-2033.

Alice Rodriguez was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown in 2017 to be the Deputy Director of External Affairs for the California High-Speed Rail Authority. She was reappointed by Governor Gavin Newsom in 2022. In this role, she is responsible for outreach, engagement, and strengthening relationships with statewide, national, and international stakeholders on the nation’s first high-speed rail system.


Rodriguez served as the Authority’s Small Business Advocate from 2015 to 2017 where she managed the development and implementation of a statewide program that ensures small and disadvantaged businesses play a key part in the success of the high-speed rail program.


Prior to joining the Authority, Rodriguez acquired over a decade of state experience in public outreach and stakeholder engagement. She managed the executive office at the Department of Managed Health Care where she led a team of administrative and analytical staff in support of the executive team and assisted with the development and roll out of a new strategic plan. She began her state career at CaliforniaVolunteers, Office of the Governor, where she held multiple appointments including Senior Manager of External Affairs and Special Assistant to the Secretary. She managed the Business Partners Program, and the State Service Commission, and led the planning for the annual Governor’s Volunteering and Service Awards.
