IPI Partnering News

IPI has published its first self-funded research project!  The Research Report entitled "An Inquiry to Move an Under-utilized Best Practice Forward: Barriers to Partnering in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Industry".

Initially published on June 19, 2014, the report prepared by Sinem Mollaoglu (Korkmaz), PhD, LEED® AP at Michigan State University's Construction Management Program focuses on a series of surveys given to a panel of Partnering experts.  The expert panel identified four key barriers to partnering: Organizational, Cultural, Legislative, and Project-team related.   All in all, they identified 25 common "Barriers to Partnering" and ranked them.

The findings were interesting - in the top 12, the most frequently cited barrier to partnering was Cultural Barriers.  We find this particularly exciting because it is in alignment with our mission to improve organization and project-team cultures, resulting in better outcomes for construction project teams!

The Report, which is free to IPI Member Organizations, has a $750.00 value.  Make sure to log in to the IPI Website and download the report by following this link: https://partneringinstitute.org/research/partnering-research-downloads/
